On Thursday, August 27, 2009 the Busch Gardens theme park in Tampa will host a swift water rescue training class. About 40 rescuers from fire departments around the State of Florida and their seasoned instructors will be given access to the Congo River Rapids water ride. This class will prepare these rescuers to use skills that could saves lives during urban flood and swiftly moving water rescue situations. The environment provided by the water ride gives rescuers as close to real life training as is possible in a controllable location. The arrangement between Busch Gardens and the rescue class is the only one of its kind in Florida and possibly the nation. The rescuers are members of Florida Task Force 3 (FL-TF3) and Central Florida Task Force 4 (FL-TF4). They are participating in a 40-hour Urban Flood Rescue class. The class is being conducted under the auspices of the Florida State Fire College using grant money provided by the Department of Homeland Security.
The class provides members of FL-TF3 and TF4 the knowledge and skills necessary to deal with widespread water flooding situations.
Florida has nine USAR Task Forces who are well trained and equipped to deal with structural collapses and other urban search and rescue skills. Adding the urban flood rescue specialty to the team will enhance and improve the ability of Florida to respond to local and widespread disasters.
FL-TF3 is composed of rescuers from Tampa, Hillsborough County and St. Petersburg Fire Rescues. FL-TF4 is composed of rescuers from Orlando, Orange County and Seminole County. The class is conducted by Safety Solutions Incorporated of Boynton Beach, Florida.

im asking for a friend. he said he gets to go to college for free becasue he was adopted is this true?
He won’t be able to get into college completely for free, but he can get some good grants or scholarships. Here are some good sites:

I would really like to enroll at McGill University, but I am from the United States and annual tuition can range from $14,000-$22,000. Obviously, I would like to know if scholarship money can be offered. I have tried to research this for myself, but I haven’t found anything even discussing scholarships… Does anyone know?
I found some info about getting this scholarship online in this scholarship database – careers.scienceontheweb.net
I did the MA training for 8 months, after a few years I realize there is not much more money to be made hourly with this position and it is not enough. I would like to go to LVN school but the price just sounds impossible…it is a good investment though if i could make a lot more money.
scholarships.onlinewebshop.net – it provides some tips about applying to US federal and state grants for college students.
I’ve seen scholarships for African-Americans only, but I figured it was probably just some sort of Affirmative Action thing. Now I’m seeing scholarships pop up that only WOMEN are eligible for. What the hell? Last time I checked, there are actually more women than men in college at the present time. What makes people think women and minorities need some edge to be on par with everyone else. When are the white males going to get some love?
See, the deal is that the people who fund those scholarships can give them to whoever they want to. It’s their money and they often specify some favorite group to give to.
White males (WASPs) will "get some love" when other white males start to fund scholarships and restrict them in the same way. But reality is that most restricted funded scholarships don’t come from fellow WASPS but instead from special interest groups or individuals with an interest in a particular group – if you want to fund a scholarship for 6′6" New Jersey left-handed tennis players with one eye – you’re free to do so. Just as some groups are free to fund for African-Americans or women.
When we WASPs send money to a college we very often mark it for some athletic need like a new field house. But, for the most part, we just send the money and let the college decide. So, if you think there should be a White Anglo Saxon Protestant Males Majoring in Biology with a 3.75+ GPA Who Also Play Football Scholarship at your school, fund it and there will be. ?
I think you’ll find that, if you look deeply, there are more scholarships out there for we WASPS than for any other group on earth. It’s just that some of those also fund the other groups as well.
More women in college? Yes there are. But scholarship funders don’t make decisions based on which group is underrepresented – they fund whoever they want to. If you think there need to be more for men, fund them.
But it’s not "racist" or "sexist" — it’s self-serving. We men have just been taught for a generation that it’s bad to be self-serving if you’re a man. We’re made to feel guilty if we think we should get ahead – and so, let’s see where that idea leads the next generation.
I am looking for free scholarships online, BUT I live in NEwfoundland Labrador (in Canada) so they need to be Canadian. Help!
