I’m just looking for a little evidence that people actually are awarded some of these? Before I go and work my tail off submitting essay after essay to scholarships that came up through fastweb or other online scholarship opportunities I thought I would check on here.

i would say the opposite of the other responder. having used fastweb, filling out application after application, plus writing 10+ scholarship essays when applying on fastweb i didn’t receive a single scholarship- even with a 4.0 GPA, 200 hours of logged community service, and a 32 on the ACT…

I am a senior in high school, so I am trying to win scholarships. So far, I haven’t won any. I have an account on fastweb.com, and I am trying really hard to win money for college. Does anyone know any quick scholarships that I can apply for; something where I don’t have to do much since I am busy writing essays for other scholarships?

I cannot find scholarships that do not require you to buy something off a site first. I am going for my bachelor’s degree this fall and need more that just a grant from my student loan. I would be very grateful for the help. I am a married mom of three and my husband and I are currently unemployed.

The first step in obtaining financial aid is always to complete the FAFSA. After you get your EFC (expected family contribution) amount from them, contact your school’s financial aid advisor.

I have never found an online financial aid help site that didn’t want something from me. They are scams.

Most scholarship money actually comes from the school that you will be attending. But scholarships have closed for this year, they open up in October for the Fall and close in February/March.

I have a friend who desperately wants to train as a nurse, but doesn’t have any money to pay for tuition. She also has a small child, and needs a program which will support her. She is near Medina County.

Yes, there are a ton of scholarships out there for individuals wanting to become a nurse including some big name health care related industry companies.. In addition, there are loan forgiveness programs offered by the government due to the nursing shortage. For the lowest tuition and fees, I recommend checking with the community college. I will include some sources to locate help to attend college.

First, fill out the FAFSA form. The FAFSA form will tap into both federal and state financial aid along with money from the college itself. I have listed the link below in the sources section. The form becomes available each year on January 1 for the fall semester or quarter, but it is available year round.

Second, the college’s financial aid office and website has a list of private scholarships offered from outside organizations and companies. Sometimes a college major’s website will list scholarships, too.

Third, the public library has a book listing scholarships with some not even listed on the web.

Finally, I recommend joining several free membership scholarship search websites. There are scholarships for a variety of things including ethnicity, clubs, hobbies, and even wearing duct tape to the high school prom. Most are updated on a regular basis. Most offer a customized search based on information entered onto a form on the website.

No. It does not matter what college you wish to attend. If you are eligible for grants of any kind, they will go to whichever college you choose to go to.

A woman can rape (as in, tie down and subject to unwilling sex) a man, get his sperm in her vagina, have a baby. Then she can sue him for child support. WTF?

Why do women get special scholarships men can’t get? Why do they get preferential hiring on Government positions?

Why is it when a woman has sex with a 13-year old boy it’s an "affair" and when a man has sex with a 13-year old girl it’s "rape" and he should be castrated?
And the woman can choose whether she wants to have the baby or not. The man has no right even though it’s his sperm.

Women often get away with rape because the men are too embarrassed to come forward and press charges.

But some have come forward; here in Australia women have been charged and jailed for this crime.
And females have also been imprisoned for having sexual relations with underage boys (and in other countries)

I guess it is political correctness gone too far, as is often the case.

As for men having unwanted children – then they should make it their business not to let it happen.
Through the ages (some) women have set traps for men.

I want to take an online course and at the end of it I’d have certification and everything, so i wouldn’t be taking anymore classes. I was just wondering if you can use Scholarships or Financial Aid for that.
