Can you apply for scholarships to a University after doing 2 years at Community College?

I am planning on doing 2 years of Community College in order to save a ton of money.
However, after those 2 years are up and I apply to a university, can I still apply for scholarships and grants?

Yes, in fact, there are scholarships and grants available specifically for students like you: transfers. Do a little research and find a few of them. Also check with the department you plan to major in and see if they have any department-specific scholarships you can apply for. And fill out the FAFSA, there are still grants through the feds that you can get as a transfer student.

And GREAT plan to go to community college first; that will save you more than some people get in grants and scholarships! I speak from experience! :-)

Good luck!

For a grant or scholarship direct from the college you need to see if they offer any for transfer students. You will find most scholarships are for incoming freshman only. But there are some out there for transfer students, especially if your GPA is high. Just go on line to the schools web site, go to scholarships, then to transfer students.
My daughter’s school offers in state tuition for any out of state transfer student with a good GPA.
